RESEARCH POLICY
Preliminaries
In a world that demands quality and excellence in products and services, Vinayakrao Patil College adheres to socially oriented, economically viable, environmental friendly fundamental research across the identified priority areas. We constantly encourage our students and teachers do things differently; better than the way they did them yesterday and this is our definition of innovation. During the last ten years the college has excelled in the arena of research and value added research dimension in all the curricular practices. On the one hand teachers engaged with research projects in the area of their choice and on the other sought research capability enhancement of the students by allotting small projects that address the local, national and pressing environmental concerns. Out of this quest for research and innovation, the institute evolved and laid down its research policy. The tenets of the research policy were evolved unanimously after a series of interaction with the teachers and students and the policy is as given below.
Purpose
The purpose of the research policy is to have a formal written down statements of research procedures, ethics and rules and norms which are to be adhered to by the researchers. It is a kind of framework that governs within which the research is research activities.
Scope
This policy governs the research activities carried out by the students and teachers of Vinayakrao Patil College, Vaijapur. 
Objectives
  • To frame a formal research policy and communicate to all the stakeholders
  • To foster a vibrant research culture in the campus
  • To ensure that the researchers get all required support in order to pursue research
  • To encourage students and teachers take up research projects specific to local issues
  • To increase the number of research papers to be published in reputed international journals
  • To take up research in local context so as to connect college with the society for a better synergy
  • To set up recognized research centres as approved by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad.
  • To connect with local, national and international research institutes for collaborative initiatives.
Policy and Guidelines
  • The students and teachers across all the departments are expected to engage in continuous research by participating in seminars and conferences, by writing research papers, by obtaining papers and copy rights and by taking up research projects thus benefitting the local society and contributing to national development.
  • Quality, quantity and outcome of research is the criterion for promoting the faculty to higher positions or career advancement.
  • While recruiting the teachers the institute will ensure that preference is given to those candidates who have continuously proved their research potentials and their research outcome is substantial
  • The responsibility to monitor the implementation of the research policy is entrusted to the Principal, IQAC and the Research Promotion Cell
  • The aforesaid bodies will ensure that the research work is screened through the plagiarism software and then forwarded to the concerned journal
  • All the Ph.D. dissertation, Project Reports are also subject to plagiarism checking.
  • In order to expose the young teachers to international research environment, the institute will short list and depute them to overseas institutes under the faculty exchange, fellowship or similar schemes
  • The institute will nurture researchers by giving exposure through study tour, industry visit, survey and field visit.
  • The institute will organize Intellectual Property Right Workshop annually
  • The institute will reimburse the TA/DA, registration and other charges incurred for presenting papers in national and international seminar/workshop/conference or similar event twice a year and also grant him/her DL
  • In order to acquaint the students and teachers with the new trends in research and development, every year the institute will organize at least two workshops on research themes
  • In order to give a fillip to the research culture, every year the institute will confer the Best Researcher of the Year Award (Faculty) and the Best Researcher of the Year Award (Student)

Courses of research leading to Ph.D. are offered at the Research Centres of the Departments of Economics, Commerce, Chemistry, Hindi and Sociology. Candidates for Ph.D. are admitted through the admission procedure of Dr. B. A. M. University, Aurangabad.
