The department of History was established in 1968 .
M.S.P Mandle’s Vinaykrao Patil Mahavidhyalya Department of History Established in June 1968 . History is Disciplined Study of Past Historical Study entails the Exploration of Ruptures, shifts, and Continuities in Society, politics, culture and Relations Between human and the Environment. Historian Challenge and revised existing narratives of past ,both to comprehend the events they describe and to shed light on our own evolving needs and concerns. At present Associate K.S.Ban working as a head of department.
Over the years, its alumni have gone to become notable and renowned Intellectuals, Public Servants and Academics. The Department has long been at the forefront of Global and National Academia, with its faculty having been involved in the nurturing and running of prominent journals and institutions such as the Indian History Congress, one of the largest community of Historians in the world.
Scope and importance of the subject:
History instructor- There is shortage of Great teachers and history instructor are among that shortage. With online school, private school, expansion of Home school, tutoring are endless in this Field
Achievements:
- The Department has organized one national level conference .
- The department has organized four regional level workshops for faculty and student .
- Two lecture series have been organized for student on health.
HOD’s Message:
It gives me immense pleasure to welcome all the students who opted history as one of their subjects. The subject is dynamic which links past with present thereby helping in intellectual development of an individual. The department endows the students with the ability to apply knowledge of history in understanding the evolution of present institutions and problems.History department which works continuously to train students as per the standards of Industry and place them in reputed companies. I assure you that I will try my level best to maximize student’s participation in all the activities of the department and will keep the administration transparent.

Objective of the Practice:
To learn how meditation is effective in reducing stress and increasing relaxation and organizing skills.
To become aware of basic meditation technique that can help the participant to maintain a positive attitude towards their study, job, and their colleagues and in society.
To increase concentration gaining wisdom and spiritual discernment among stake holders.
To change the view of personal insight and self understanding.
To create healthy and positive thinking for character reformation.
To inculcate physical and mental health for personal empowerment.
To learn simple way of meditation for achievement of personal dreams.
To motivate and control the mind.
Goal:
To help the students of poor and weaker sections of the society with college uniforms without any discrimination on religion, caste and creed.
To create an atmosphere of equality and fraternity among the students belonging to all classes of the society.
To help them to come at par with the students of privileged class of the society.
To inculcate the sense of equality and fraternity among students.
To nullify an inferiority complex which is seen among the students belonging to financially backward classes due to their unsustainable poverty?
To bring them on the same platform so that they may improve their educational performance.
Best Practice-II
various programmes:
The college organizes various programmes under the Vinayakrao Patil Mahavidyalaya Vaijapur from last ten years. It has its organizing structure to oversee smooth conduct of all the programmes under it. The History Department motivates the students, teachers, non-teaching, parents and alumni to participate in the meditation session and lecture, workshop, seminar, debate and discussion. There are number health and mental problems to the new generation due to cut throat competition, uncertainty of job, negative thinking, addiction, and depression. All the stakeholders and even the visiting guests to college sat peacefully with concentration in the meditation hall and enlighten themselves in musical meditation session as a source of enthralling and positive weaves. A number students, parents, and alumni apart from teaching and nonteaching irrespective of their age and religions are regular visitors of the meditation hall. The students of sports, participants of cultural activities, students who prepare competitive exams are visitors in it. Even History Department the organize workshop, lectures, seminar of the eminent personalities, discussions and debates on problems of modern youth and their solutions, to guide the student to reduce their stress, anxiety, and improve concentration, memory, attention, calmness, acceptance and motivation. It helps them to transform the negativity to positive thoughts. The books on meditation and different meditation CDs are available in the library for the visitors.
Evidence of success:
The impact is widespread-over college students, alumni, parents, teachers, non-teaching. The main objective of meditation is achieved somewhat extends. The meditation helps them to rise in IQ levels, for academic stress goes down, improved academic achievement, better focus, brain integrity & efficiency, reduction in depression and anxiety, reduction in destructive addiction, lower absenteeism, better behavior, lower risk of cardiovascular diseases and happier, more confident. The students are excelling in the exams and few of them are merits. They improve their grades. The athletics succeed in their field. Most of stakeholders are regular visitors. The entry registers is maintained. The feedback is received from the visitors. The photographs and documents are maintained as an evidence of practice. There is evidence to suggest that a number of rural youth related problems have been found answer through process of meditation and contemplating here in the History Department .
The practice:
As with line of the vision and mission of the institution, the college has formed the “Students Aid Committee” which organizes various programmes including “College Uniform Donation” programme to help the student of weaker sections (BPL) of the society by donating them the college uniforms, unanimously decided by the governing body of the college. The Management spontaneously and enthusiastically contribute to this scheme for the welfare of the poor students who are deprived from education. The chief aim of this practice is to bring poor students in the main stream of education. In the beginning of the session, the college invites applications from the students of weaker section of the society for the uniforms donation scheme every year. The college informs about the scheme by notifying it on the college notice board as well as circulating notices in the class rooms. The students are required to submit income certificate to ensure whether they are eligible for financial support in the form of college uniforms or not. All the received applications are verified by the welfare committee to determine the financial condition of the respective students and come to the conclusion whether the concerned students are in need or not. Later on, the student welfare committee of the college distributes the college uniforms to the selected students at special function in the presence of Principal and a member of Management.
Immediate Plans:
To increase student’s participation in various research activities in the department.
In the next 5 Years:
- To undertake research project.
- To introduce short term courses to develop skills among the students of commerce faculty.

- Linking with other colleges as well as private institutes for participative learning.
